Social Engineering – What could possible go wrong? Ask the Chinese.

Secular “Progressives” love to implement their unproven social engineering ideas on the U.S.  President Obama and his posse of progressives inserted into the Obamacare health insurance initiative the idea of universal contraceptive coverage for all women (including abortifacients, which abort early stage human beings if conception has occurred).  And, of course, President Obama and other Progressives are absolutists when it comes to abortion, even to the point of opposing “Born Alive” legislation.

The ripple effects for such meddling with God’s Creation are unpredictable.

Just ask China. When China implemented a one-child policy in 1979 it put in place with free abortion on demand and demanded forced abortion if a women had more than one child. The problem is that in a society where males are seen as a financial security policy for parents and if a parent can only have one child, many opt for a male.  Of course, you can’t tell a child’s sex until conception.  If a girl is conceived, she is aborted if the parent wants a male child. Kill the girl, or girls, until you get a boy.

The unintended consequence?  Elizabeth Winkler over at the New Republic gets us up to date:

“Thanks to the one-child policy, China is the most gender imbalanced country in the world—with 117.78 boys for every 100 girls. In 2012, the Chinese government estimated that the country had 40 million more males than females, with the difference growing larger every year. If China’s sex ratio holds steady, there will be 55 million “extra” males by 2020…But the most troublesome consequence of the gender imbalance is the increase in China’s violent crimes. Golley and Tyers are building off existing research, which confirms that China’s crime rate has doubled over the last 20 years and that incidents of social unrest have risen from about 40,000 in 2001 to over 90,000 in 2009.”

In round numbers, what this means is that as a result of murdering about 25,ooo,ooo (that’s 25 million) little girls, there are way, way too many young men who are unable to find a wife…about 55,000,000 (55 MILLION). It’s bad for China, but might be even worse for other countries:

• Countries with a surplus of women (Russia, for example) is right next door.  What if the forced bachelors of China decide to come calling on Russian women?
• 55 MILLION Chinese men are tempting fodder for a Chinese war on someone; for perspective, the U.S. military has about 1.4 million total enlisted.  While manpower is not the only measure of a military’s strength, a country that has a lot more “boots on the ground” potential, and a need to export its man-problem, is perhaps tempted to start wars.
• Several million men in a Chinese Army with no women could unleash a whole lot of raping an pillaging.

Contraception, abortion, homosexual “marriage” and other Progressive “innovations” are all abominations in the eyes of God, for they don’t lead to human happiness. For Catholic men, the point is this:  Our Holy Catholic Church upholds the truth about life; The 10 Commandments were given by God and are faithfully professed by the Church.  These truths lead to human happiness and thriving.  Breaking the Commandments leads to pain and suffering…sooner or later.

Don’t trust anyone who opposes the Truths of God. Secular Progressives and many forms of Conservative and Libertarian thought profess to have all the solutions for modern society…but that have unpredictable consequences.

When you go against God, the results are often unpredictable and always bad for His children.

Just ask the Chinese.
