A Call for a New Manly Vigilance: Homosexual Cartoon Propaganda Edition

In case you missed it, the comic book “Archie” has been promoting homosexual marriage for some time.

Now, poor Archie, the Archie who was a staple for many young people growing up, has been killed off after 75 years.  Now, wait for it….Archie is killed by a anti-gun control terrorist as he defends his homosexual friend.

Now, to be clear.  It is a noble and loving thing to be willing to die for a friend; in fact our Lord and King says this (John 15:13):

“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

Jesus Christ would certainly applaud a man who lays down his life for another man, even a homosexual man, despite his disordered passions.

Homosexual acts are objectively disordered.  From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

But it is not very noble or loving to use a cartoon series to indoctrinate young people into an ideological point of view.   While Dr. Goebbels (the master Nazi propagandist) would not have thought much about promoting homosexuality, he would have certainly agreed with the use of cartoons as propaganda.  Here is a propaganda cartoon from an anti-Semitic book from the 1930’s called “The Experience of Hans and Else with a Strange Man“:

Sadly, Disney which likes to portray itself as “child friendly”,  has been sinister in its subtle use of homosexual-supporting themes in its top selling animated movies like Frozen.  Here is the left-leaning Atlantic’s take on Disney’s pro-queer messaging to children.

The relentless push by those who embrace the idea that there are no sexual acts that are sinful will continue as those who have power to shape culture wish to promote perversity.  And increasingly, to win the long term war, they will turn to the seduction of children.

Jesus warned men about the seduction of children (Matt 18:5-6):

“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”

Homosexual acts are sinful and those who promote homosexual acts to children will have to reckon with Jesus.  We must pray for them, that Christ might enlighten their minds to turn from sin and to care more for children then their own selfish views of sex.

Pray Catholic men, that the Holy Spirit may fill you with resolve and vigilance, to protect your children from both overt (e.g. Archie) and subtle (e.g. Frozen) attempts to shape their minds to accept sexual sin.

Christ will hold each of us accountable for how well we nurture our children in the love of Him and how we protect our children from the rabid beasts of the world.
